Ben's Phoenix Powers FD
Ben is a big fan of the FD3S RX-7 and it's not hard to see why. They look great, handle amazingly and they come from the factory with a high-revving, sequential twin-turbo rotary motor. But, where most would be satisfied with just one FD, Ben ended up with two... on opposite sides of the world.
For the past year he has been working hard on his USDM FD3S RX-7, pushing to get it done for the 2017 Time Attack season. While that project was underway we came across a 1993 FD sitting in Japan that had been built by Garage Fukui (Phoenix Powers). It was a deal he couldn't pass on and, suddenly, he was the owner of an FD in the US, and one in Japan.
Ironically, all this happen shortly before our last trip to Japan. Instead of just letting it sit in storage while it waited to become eligible for import to the US, Ben decided to invest in having it registered so he could drive it during our time back in Japan.
Needless to say being able to drive an an RE Amemiya aero kitted, Blitz turbo'd and Phoneix Powers tuned FD3S RX-7 that you own makes a good time in Japan even better.
