Hayashi's S15 Silvia
If you don't know who Kazuki Hayashi is you should. He's one of the best drivers in Japan and has run in D1 Street Legal and Formula D and is now piloting the Droo-P Toyota 86 in D1 Grand Prix. He may be behind the wheel of a power house now, but for years he was driving at the highest level in his D-Max sponsored S15 Silvia. While all his competition was behind the wheel of a 1JZ or 2JZ powered machine pushing more than 800hp, Kazuki was with the 500HP SR20DET he built himself.
Over the past few days I've been moving pictures from one Google Drive account to another and ran across these taken by Ben Mich at the Yama-Ichi competition at Hadashi Tengoku a few years ago. They were too good not to share.
Below is a Top 16 video from Formula-D at Okayama International where Kazuki qualified second. It's queued to start at his Top 16 battle with Chris Forsberg. You can definitely see the Yamaguchi style in his entry. You can also skip to 24:15 to watch his battle with his D-Max teammate Yokoi who is behind the wheel of a much more powerful S15.
